This is so very true. People give a lot of credit to team coaches. But as someone who coaches both team and recreational classes, 45 minutes with 2 years olds can often prove more exhausting than 3 hours with team girls. Recreational coaches deserve a pat on the back. I love to see coaches who use their talents to motivate the recreational students and make them feel as valued and special as the competitive gymnasts.
